"Wait until you see Schultz Dining Hall!"
That's what we've been telling people for a couple of weeks now. That's because we have been making some exciting changes to one of our Dining Halls. In fact, Pioneer Camp & Retreat Center would like to take the opportunity to thank the North Collins Correctional Facility and the inmates who helped us give Schultz Dining Hall a much needed facelift in the form of repairs.
As a Christian ministry that has been serving the local community since 1945, you can imagine how time has taken its toll on the facility that God gave us and that we use so often when serving our Guests. We were in desperate need of a new paint job and new flooring amongst other things.
Well, we can remove a few things from our Prayer List today! Praise the Lord!
All I can say is that the daily dedication, commitment to a job well done, and strict attention to detail by all those who served on this renovation project did not go unnoticed by us. Everyone did a remarkable job, and especially our Facilities Director, Mike Kinsella, who spearheaded the project! While we know that good works do not save a man's soul (Ephesians 2:8-9; John 6:28-29), we also know that faith is nothing without good works (James 2:20; James 2:26), and that it can be evidence of true conversion and a genuine faith (Ephesians 2:10; Colossians 3:17; Colossians 3:23).
Like the 'new life' that our Schultz Dining Hall now has, we pray that God has used this brief experience with each and every individual who played a key role in the completion of this project to communicate to them the truth about their own need to possess a new life in Him through repentance and faith in the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (John 3:3; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Romans 6:4; Colossians 3:1; 1 Peter 1:3).
At the end of the day, while we ourselves cannot ever truly know the true content of another person's heart, we can say with confidence that the attitude each worker displayed while performing the exceptional work that they did for us reminded us of a key truth found in 1 Corinthians 10:31 that says, "So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God". What an excellent reminder for each and every one of us these days.
While we are still in the process of putting the finishing touches on things, we're confident that you'll agree that the changes made to Schultz Dining Hall are wonderful, and you'll understand why we view them as being an answer to our prayers.
Please be sure to check out Schultz Dining Hall the next time you visit Pioneer and let us know what you think.
